Description

Biodiversity Born of Ice. A Trip to Lake Dres: Hiking and History in Ceresole Reale, in the Province of Turin.

Established in 1922 as Italy’s first national park, Gran Paradiso has its roots in the historic Savoy hunting reserve—a connection that has earned Ceresole the famous title of “Royal.”

This itinerary will take us on a journey to discover an authentic and remote corner of the park, whose natural history predates even the arrival of the monarchs and the presence of the ibex. Amid the local biodiversity and the geomorphological features of the area, we will uncover the secrets held by the picturesque Lake Dres.
