This guided hike in Conero Park combines nature and history on a trail accessible to everyone. The route begins in the 11th century with the Church of the Abbey of San Pietro, a white-stone structure where the guide will show you the intricate medieval capitals carved with figures of animals, monks, and mythical creatures. From there, the trail winds through the fragrant Mediterranean scrub and evergreen forests. Walking at a leisurely pace, you’ll reach the scenic viewpoints of Pian Raggetti, Pian Grande, and Belvedere Nord. From these natural terraces, the view stretches from above over the Bay of Portonovo all the way to the city of Ancona, nestled along the coast with its distinctive elbow-shaped silhouette. It is the ideal route for discovering the history and beauty of the region through its most stunning vistas of the sea and the Marche hinterland.
