Do you dream of an adventure that combines the majesty of glaciers with the scent of the sea? This 6-day self-drive itinerary is the ultimate experience for those who love freedom.
The journey begins in Turin, taking you straight to the foot of Mont Blanc. You’ll experience the thrill of the Skyway, suspended at 3,466 meters among Europe’s highest peaks . From the Alpine landscapes of Courmayeur, you’ll then drive toward Liguria, taking in the flavors of the Canavese region.
Destination? The Cinque Terre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You’ll explore colorful villages like Vernazza and Manarola, ending the day with a magical sunset cruise. The tour concludes in elegant Turin, amid the palaces of the House of Savoy and a history stretching back a thousand years.
The trip begins upon your arrival at Turin Caselle Airport, where you’ll pick up the rental car that will take you along the entire route.
Leaving the city behind, the road winds its way through the Alpine valleys: the scenery changes gradually, passing through vineyards, forests, and increasingly majestic mountains, until it reaches Courmayeur, an elegant Alpine resort at the foot of Mont Blanc.
After checking in at the hotel, the rest of the day is spent getting a first taste of the mountain atmosphere: a stroll past boutiques, cafés, and chalets, with your gaze always fixed on the peaks surrounding the village.
Dinner and overnight stay in Courmayeur.
After breakfast, one of the most spectacular experiences in the Alps awaits you.
The Skyway Monte Bianco panoramic cable car will take you to Punta Helbronner, at an altitude of 3,466 meters, in just a few minutes. During the ascent, the rotating cabins offer a 360° view of the mountains.
Once at the summit, the view is simply breathtaking: immense glaciers, legendary peaks, and the natural border between Italy, France, and Switzerland.
After this unique experience at high altitude, I head back down to the valley.
The afternoon is set aside for relaxation: you can take advantage of the hotel's spa or enjoy the laid-back atmosphere of Courmayeur.
Dinner and overnight stay.
After breakfast, we set off on one of the most picturesque legs of the trip: the journey from the Alps to the Mediterranean. The route winds through Piedmont and Liguria, passing through hills, vineyards, and small villages.
Along the way, we’ll stop for a meal in the Canavese region, where you can discover the authentic flavors of the area with a traditional lunch. In the afternoon, you’ll finally reach the coast: your destination is Monterosso al Mare, the largest of the Cinque Terre villages, famous for its beaches and relaxed atmosphere.
After checking in at the hotel, you’ll have free time for your first stroll along the waterfront or through the village’s narrow streets.
Dinner at a traditional restaurant and overnight stay.
This day is entirely dedicated to exploring the Cinque Terre, one of Italy’s most famous coastal landscapes and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
You can explore the colorful villages of Vernazza, Manarola, and Riomaggiore, traveling comfortably by train along the coast or on foot along the scenic trails through vineyards and along the cliffs.
Each village has its own unique character: small marinas, pastel-colored houses, views of the sea, and terraces where you can stop for a glass of Ligurian wine.
A special treat awaits you in the late afternoon: “
” a sunset cruise along the coast, with an aperitif on board. From the sea, the villages look even more magical, bathed in the golden light of the sun as it sinks below the horizon.
Return to the hotel, dinner, and overnight stay.
After breakfast, we'll drive to Turin.
The journey slowly takes you from the sea back to the city that for centuries was the capital of the Kingdom of Italy.
