Molveno is a town with just over 1,000 residents located 40 kilometers from Trento, on the shores of the enchanting lake of the same name, surrounded by the Brenta Dolomites within the Adamello-Brenta Nature Park. In 2024, Lake Molveno won the award for Italy’s most beautiful lake for the tenth time, presented by Legambiente and the Italian Touring Club, while the town holds the “Bandiera Arancione” designation.

Things to Do and See in Molveno

If you love sports and fun, Molveno is the place for you: In the summer, you can choose from windsurfing on the lake, a game of tennis, a boat or pedal boat ride, a paragliding flight, a canoe trip, a stand-up paddleboarding lesson, a swim in the Olympic-size pool, or a stroll along the lake’s shores. If, on the other hand, you’re a fan of hiking and mountain biking, you can follow the Dolomiti di Brenta Trek and Dolomiti di Brenta Bike trails, which will take you into the heart of the Brenta Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. And if you love spending your days at high altitudes, the brand-new gondola from the village will take you comfortably to the Pradel Plateau, where you’ll find the Forest Park adventure trails—which the kids will love.

If, on the other hand, you prefer a bit more relaxation, in addition to enjoying the tranquility of the large lakeside beach, you can take short walks to the mountain huts or lodges year-round and then savor Trentino specialties while taking in the view of the Brenta Dolomites, which turn pink at sunrise and sunset.
