Description

An afternoon tour of Turin’s historic cafés and pastry shops from the Risorgimento era in Piedmont: a guided tour with a Bicerin tasting

Turin is home to a unique treasure: its historic cafés and pastry shops, which served as the true salons of the Risorgimento. It was here, among these tables, that Italy was born. In the past, politicians, poets, and even King Carlo Alberto frequented these establishments to soak up the cultural and political atmosphere of Italy’s first capital. In Turin, every important decision and every piece of gossip inevitably made its way through a café.

This afternoon tour will take you to the heart of the city to admire historic furnishings, antique mirrors, and fine woods, all enveloped in that elegant and understated atmosphere that makes Turin so charming. It will be like walking through an open-air museum, discovering anecdotes and secrets from a golden age. The two-hour tour will conclude with a tasting of Bicerin, Turin’s traditional hot beverage made with coffee, chocolate, and milk cream.
