The fourth day of the 2024 Rugby Championship is a great success for Italy, which has taken eighth place in the world ranking thanks to the surprising collapse of Australia against Argentina. The success of the Pumas has relegated the Wallabies in the standings, allowing the Azzurri to overtake them and return to the top eight teams in the world.

At the top of the ranking, South Africa consolidates its leading position, distancing Ireland by almost one and a half points, which remains in second place. Despite the defeat in Cape Town, New Zealand remains third, and is still one of the strongest teams on the world stage. Behind the All Blacks, we find France, firmly in fourth place, and England closing the top 5.

Another significant change concerns Argentina, which thanks to the clear victory against Australia is approaching the sixth place occupied by Scotland. The Pumas are experiencing a moment of remarkable form and could soon put pressure on other teams at the top of the ranking.

Australia, on the other hand, continues to lose ground. The defeat against Argentina caused a relegation of the Wallabies, now out of the top 8, to the advantage of Italy. With this promotion, the Azzurri show that they are constantly growing and can compete with the historically strongest nations in world rugby.

To complete the top 10 we find Fiji, which is placed ahead of Wales. In the top 15, we find Georgia, Samoa, Japan and Portugal, which continue to struggle to improve their position in the world ranking.
