The historic center of Perugia is a real medieval town with many monuments to admire. Starting from the Palazzo dei Priori, followed by the National Gallery of Umbria and the Collegio del Cambio. Not to be missed is Piazza IV Novembre, with the Fontana Maggiore, the work of John and Nicola Pisano. The rest of the province is also rich in places of historical and cultural interest, starting from Assisi, for centuries a destination for tourists and pilgrims. In this lovely town you can admire the Cathedral of San Rufino, in the Romanesque style, the Basilica of St. Clare, characterized by the pink and white strips on the facade, which preserves inside the crucifix that spoke to St. Francis according to the legend, and the Upper Basilica of St. Francis, where there are frescoes by Cimabue and Giotto. Famous is also the Porziuncola, an ancient chapel where the Saint took refuge, located in the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli. Another place to visit is Gubbio, where you can see the Roman Theatre and the Palazzo dei Consoli, imposing complex of the ‘300, which now houses the Picture Gallery and the Archaeological Museum.
