The charming old town of Trento is evidence of the ancient splendor of the period of the Prince-Bishops of the city, where the old Renaissance buildings have been restored. The Dolomites are the background, creating a wonderful atmosphere and fascinating. Among the most important monuments are the thirteenth-century Praetorian Palace and the Cathedral, in Romanesque-Gothic style, the place where in 1543-1563 there was the famous Council of Trent. The town is ndominated by the majestic castle Buonconsiglio, surrounded by walls; while among the religious buildings there are the majestic Cathedral of San Vigilio, the twelfth century in Roman-Gothic style, and the Church of Santa Maria Maggiore. In the rest of the province not to be missed are a number of towns such as Pinzolo, where you can admire the famous painting of the sixteenth century, the “Dance of Death”, of the painter Baschenis in the church of San Vigilio; Rovereto hosts the Modern Mart, or the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Trento and Rovereto and the Historical Museum of War; in the surrounding countryside to visit is the Military Memorial of Castel Dante, which holds the remains of the fallen. On the shores of Lake Garda, there is Riva del Garda that encloses interesting architecture, including the scenic Rocca.
