The typical enogastronomy of Livorno is mostly based on fish; in particular they never fail the dogfish, the monkfish, mullet to Livornese in tomato sauce with garlic and parsley, salt cod and cod with onion, tomato and potato. The main dish is “Cacciucco”, the famous fish soup. Other typical dishes are meatballs, vegetable soup, “roschette” made with bread and the “schiacciata” of Easter.
