The province of Rovigo lying in a predominantly agricultural area, and offers simple and genuine products. The main dishes are in fact the rice in fish broth, or “polesano” risotto with eel, mussels and clams; while, among the vegetables, the variety commonly grown are: Lettuce Nasturtium; the Gentile; the Brazilian, the Roman and the White or Variegated Radicchio di Lusia. Very abundant in this area are especially the various types of sausages including the famous bondiola smoked and bondiola of Adria, made with lean veal together with pork rump and lard. For dessert you can taste the “Polesan” cake or “miassa”, and the chocolate salami. Among the wines we recommend the Prosecco Doc.
