The main street of Imperia is Via Bonfante, with its arcades and galleries, home to the trendiest city. Behind the port is the old Oneglia, with the old fishermen’s houses. On the eastern edge of the city you can still see the remains of seventeenth century city walls built by the Savoy. Other turistic sites to visit are the Church of the Annunciation, with the neoclassical facade, and the eighteenth century complex of the Piarists. Neoclassical also the cathedral of St. Maurice, placed outside of the historic center. In Piazza del Duomo there is the famous Naval Museum. In the rest of the province you can visit Sanremo, the city of flowers, with the famous buildings, the Casino and Ariston Theatre, known for the Festival of Italian Song; Ventimiglia is formed by the archaeological city of the Roman era, an open-air museum with the theater still intact, the door of Provence; the other part is formed by the medieval town characterized by the mighty wall, the Cathedral of the Assumption, the octagonal baptistery and convent of Lateran Canonichesse. Also worth seeing is the Teatro Salvini of Pieve di Teco, the smallest theater in the world. Do not miss Dolceacqua, with the Doria castle, in addition to Imperia, Bordighera, Arma di Taggia, Diano Marina, Ospedaletti offering beautiful beaches and sunny.
